My name is Alex Papworth and

Over that past 5 years I have learnt how our society and also our businesses are not designed to honour the individual.
Work is based on an early 20th Century mechanistic model with role specifications, targets, performance reviews, damaging conflict (arising from avoiding healthy challenge) and so on.
This doesn't honour human uniqueness. It forces people into boxes which can be a crushing experience.
And this failure to honour individual uniqueness is also holding back business potential.
This is noone's fault. And it is possible to do things differently.
It starts with you!
In the same way that I started with me!
Get to know who you are and what you enjoy doing.
This is your inner nature.
You are a result of your birth, your upbringing and your work experiences.
This makes you a unique individual with very specific talents and resources.
Our work culture encourages us to fix our shortcomings rather than celebrate and draw upon our unique strengths.
It is like trying to make an acorn grow into a beech tree. It is not in its nature!
I have been through this process and can help you discover what you need.
I have worked in everything from startups to large corporates. As employee and contractor.
I have been there. I have learnt lessons from each failure.
I have learnt how and why businesses routinely crush people. I have taken the opportunity to learn whenever I have had a bad experience.
Our culture discourages learning from negative experiences and emotions. They still exist but they are hidden away and generate feelings of shame and humiliation.
There are healthy, respectful ways of using tensions creatively. Inner tension and tension in a team is a valuable resource. The most creative, thriving companies use it to generate individual and collective growth.
There is a misconception that you either chase the money or do good in the world
This either/or thinking is destructive to individuals and limits business potential.
I believe that businesses can BOTH honour employees/owners/managers uniqueness AND offer their staff a sensible income AND have a positive impact in the world.
I work with business owners so that they can create healthy businesses that honour and respect everyone with systems and processes that make this a grounded reality.
This includes mechanisms to reflect as a team and explore tensions to grow and be creative. This is needed to be a high performing team.
I also work with employees and contractors so they can can craft a work and business ecosystem that supports them to thrive.
I cocreated the Earthaconter Community in 2022 which supports changemakers who want to have a positive impact.
Our way of working embodies the ethos of being curious about tension to facilitate growth individually and for the organisation itself.
I founded the naturebeing movement in 2023 as a free, volunteer led movement to support individuals to reconnect to the natural world on a regular basis.
